A Little Update

Hello everyone! It's been awhile since we've posted anything, so I figured that I ought to update everyone on our happenings.

We had a little scare with Lily on the 8th that resulted in an overnighter at the hospital. At this point, it looks like everything will probably be okay, but I have been prescribed bed rest and Procardia to stop contractions until I reach Week 37...it is no fun, but it is worth it if it means that we will have a healthy and beautiful little girl! The doctors performed a fetal fibromectin test when I was almost 34 weeks--the test indicates whether or not I will likely go into labor in the next two weeks, which the doc's were worried about because I was having painless contractions every minute and a half. Luckily, it came back negative, so there is only about a 1% chance that I will have her before I am 36 weeks. We were grateful for that news! I am still required to go to the doctor more often, however, so they can check to make sure that the contractions are not causing any cervical changes. I am about 1 and 1/2 centimeters dilated and have been since Tuesday...so no changes yet, which is another good sign!

Otherwise, we are staying busy with school. Brian is getting back into the swing of things and I am eagerly trying to work ahead so that, when I DO go into labor, I won't have too much work to make up!

Hope everyone else is doing wonderful! Keep in touch :)

Lily's Room :)

I thought I would post pictures of Lily's room for everyone who is unable to come up here and see the nursery's progress...
Here is a good picture of the bedding's design
Her pretty car seat and bassinet :)

Her stylin' new ride...

Brian loves buying baby toys...I think he will end up playing with them more than she will. This is a picture of the crib, just awaiting a baby!

We are doing well. Brian goes back to work on Wednesday and I start classes again on Monday. This semester should be much easier for both of us--I am only taking 12 hours online (all that's needed to graduate!) and they are mostly lower-level electives, so it should feel much easier than last semester. Brian is teaching his normal 16 credit hours, so he will have a lighter load as well :)
Lily seems to be doing well. I am able to feel her different baby parts when I poke my belly now, a sign that she must be growing well...not to mention I am getting rather large :) We have another appointment tomorrow, and continue to see the midwife every other week until we reach week 37, then we will begin to have weekly appointments. We are also starting our prenatal classes on Thursday, and we are both interested in seeing what they will be like.
That's about all the news in our world...I'll write more later.
